Flow...Posted by DaveB (Exeter, United Kingdom) on 13 August 2007 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. A long exposure, taken at Canonteign Falls in Devon. This is not the falls itself, but a minor fall over a set of rocks downstream of the falls itself. As always, comments are welcome, particularly those offering feedback and criticism on my images! (It's the only way I'll learn!) :)

sithenah from Greater Manchester/Cheshire, United Kingdomgret how you've captured the movement in the water 13 Aug 2007 4:52pm @sithenah: Thanks Sithenah Sashmo Au.go.go from Adelaide, AustraliaBeautifully realised. Six seconds seems perfect, actually. I tried this in Japan once and discovered even two seconds was too long. I'm taking a guess by saying that the stream was flowing rather slowly? PS Welcome to A-3. May your images be fruitful by multiplying over the course of their natural time. :) 15 Aug 2007 3:55am @Sashmo Au.go.go: Cheers for the welcome Sashmo! It wasnt that the stream was flowing particularly slowly, but I had a polariser and an ND filter on my lens, which helped to reduce the amount of light coming in the lens. @Vahid: Thanks Vahid JeBeKe from Bruges, BelgiumOhhhh that's nice. Colors, composition, shutter speed, ... all well chosen. Congrats. 3 Nov 2007 1:05pm @JeBeKe: Thanks JeBeke Organik from AustraliaOh. My. Dave! I thought I'd take a walk through your archives since I've missed so many earlier dated photos, when I saw this! Wow! Stunning photo! Love everything about it. Gorgeous colours and the water looks simply divine! Ha, and here's me.. a woman of few words when it comes to comments. ;) 22 Nov 2007 10:21am @Organik: Thanks Organik! John from Grand Forks, United StatesAwesome! I can't wait to be in an area to take these long exposure shots of flowing water. 10 Feb 2008 11:56pm @John: Thanks for the comment John Henry from Boston, United StatesNice shot. This reminds me of a small stream that I hike by along the Wailua River in Kauai, Hawaii. Strange that two geographically diverse places could seem so familiar. Nice job. 30 Mar 2008 9:54pm @Henry: Thanks Henry, and apologies for the belated response! Jon from Basingstoke, United KingdomI think the long exposure for 6 seconds works well. Good job. 28 Oct 2008 4:30pm @Jon: Thanks Jon Wayne Molyneux from Crewe, United KingdomJust how I like my water Dave, I know only too well the problem of rogue branches, especially straight after a good down pour. Nice light too not too strong. Wayne 16 Apr 2009 5:47pm |
