Power...Posted by DaveB (Exeter, United Kingdom) on 14 August 2007 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. Taken more than a year ago, while conducting a riverbank survey along the River Brue in deepest darkest Somerset. There's no EXIF data cos this was taken using a compact digital, and then had a bit of tweaking in photoshop to play around with the light levels! I've got another, slightly different version of this image, which I may post later in the week. As always, comments are welcome, particularly those offering feedback and criticism on my images! (It's the only way I'll learn!) :)

sithenah from Greater Manchester/Cheshire, United KingdomPylons can be quite majestic - in 50 years time they'll be public monuments! 14 Aug 2007 9:00am @sithenah: I know what you mean, sometimes they look so beautiful marching across the countryside! eureka from Boston, United Statesgreat perspective shot. i love the sky in the background too. 14 Aug 2007 1:27pm Wolfgang Prigge from Granby, CanadaBeautiful layering in the sky. I agree with sithenah, the pylons look majestic in this pic. Here we have quite a controversy about windmills to produce electricity, some people just hate them. I wonder if they are the same people who fall in extasy over the old Dutch windmills.... 14 Aug 2007 2:50pm @Wolfgang Prigge: I know what you mean Wolfgang, as you drive around Cornwall, you'll suddenly crest a hill and come across a number of (in my opinion) beautiful electricity-generating windmills. I think they look stunning, but others are in complete disagreement! |
