The Tanners Souk, Fes

Posted by DaveB (Exeter, United Kingdom) on 7 October 2007 in Business & Industry and Portfolio.

This is the first image from my trip to Morocco, taken towards the end of the trip. This is an image of the Tanners Souk in Fes; here, men work with pigeon droppings and possibly carcinogenic chemicals for pounds a day, while tourists sit on rooftops, waft mint under their nose to ward off the smell, and take photos! More than a bit wrong, but an experience nonetheless

As always, comments are welcome, particularly those offering feedback and criticism on my images! (It's the only way I'll learn!) :)

such a vivid and strong image, made even stronger by your words, I guess to a degree it comes down to perspective, we may see it as wrong, but if it was closed down without other work available they wouldnt be able to provide for there families,
Strange world we live in sometimes
