Hay TherePosted by DaveB (Exeter, United Kingdom) on 1 November 2007 in Landscape & Rural. Taken during a recent riverbank survey at Langport in Somerset, I played around with it in Photshop a bit, and I'm still not sure whether it turned out right or not! As always, comments are welcome, particularly those offering feedback and criticism on my images! (It's the only way I'll learn!) :)

Wolfgang Prigge from Granby, Québec, CanadaHas a fuzzy look to it. Was it intended? 1 Nov 2007 10:13am @Wolfgang Prigge: It was intended, I put a gaussian blur on the image then played around with it a bit, it looks good but not exactly what I was hoping for. Definitely scope for improvement though! Enjoy your time off, if that's what it is! :) Shutterbug from Chennai, IndiaLooks mysterious to me! and all the better for a dash of mystery! 1 Nov 2007 12:43pm @Shutterbug: Thanks for your comment! Brian from West Lafayette, United StatesWonderful! Has an almost HDR look to it--the softness is perfect. 1 Nov 2007 1:10pm @Brian: Cheers Brian! MaryB from Staffordshire, United Kingdomwow! I love the effect, I agree with shutterbug, it does give it a mysterious look to it! 1 Nov 2007 3:09pm @MaryB: I never even noticed this Mary, better late than never for a halloween post! Walt from Scarborough, CanadaAgree with Mary, a nice unintentional Halloweenie kind of shot... 1 Nov 2007 4:46pm @Walt: Cheers Walt @HorseRotorVator: Thanks for your comment HR Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomI used to have a lens filter that did a similar effect. Its a good experiment in PS that was well worth the effort. 2 Nov 2007 12:28am @Richard_Irwin: Thanks Richard, I've played with softening filters a bit but have found you need a certain kind of light to make them work well imo Rebecca from Leicester, United KingdomWhoaaaa, I do agree, this one does indeed come across as having a life of its own. The slight hazy look and fabulously shaped trees do add to the sense of secrets ‘lurking’ in the air. Superb effect!! 2 Nov 2007 4:06am @Rebecca: Thanks Rebecca! |
