Textures #1

Posted by DaveB (Exeter, United Kingdom) on 12 November 2007 in Abstract & Conceptual.

A theme week this week I think. I was in Sidmouth last week end, wandering around and taking some shots, and desided to try for a theme over the course of the day. This shot was what decided it for me, that I would look for different or contrasting textures along the beach. There'll be more to come over the rest of the week. From the looks of it, this is a bulmers / magners bottle in a beautifully ripply pond!

It should be said that I got this idea from the adorama website, specifically this page, and this page was brought to my attention through the aminus forums (Join if you haven't already!)

As always, comments are welcome, particularly those offering feedback and criticism on my images! (It's the only way I'll learn!) :)

Walt from Scarborough, Canada

Nothing like the detritus of humanity in an otherwise beautiful shot...this is quite a nice one!

Wonderfull ripples in the water, and even though it has some man made debris, not all is bad, the fallen leaves under the water are beautiful.

The ripples are nice with that golden tone... it's a good statement image.

Sumptuous textures; those ripples truly hold the eye, debris notwithstanding. Well-spotted and captured, Dave!

Yah, have to agree with the others. You've captured the ripples perfectly. Great find Dave!
