Textures #2Posted by DaveB (Exeter, United Kingdom) on 13 November 2007 in Abstract & Conceptual and Portfolio. Continuing with my textures theme for the week, here's a close up of some ropes and a rusty chain in an old fishing boat, a nice contrast I think! It should be said that I got this idea from the adorama website, specifically this page, and this page was brought to my attention through the aminus forums (Join if you haven't already!) As always, comments are welcome, particularly those offering feedback and criticism on my images! (It's the only way I'll learn!) :)

FC from NewYork, United StatesNice one on textures..and muted color. I tried to join the forum, it wouldn't accept my login>>? this has happened before..so - it's a no. 13 Nov 2007 6:26am @FC: There have been some problems with the forum recently, but you do need to register for it seperately to aminus, you don't use the same login! Thanks for your comment! Organik Mum from Victoria, AustraliaLove this shot Dave. The simple textures are great and imagine the stories these could tell about 'the one that got away!'. :) 13 Nov 2007 7:19am @Organik Mum: Thanks Organik MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomThere is something about the way the sea weathers things, that sets it apart, the beautifully bleached rope hides innocently behind the strong rusted chain. Super textures and colours in this superb image, I love this one Dave. 13 Nov 2007 10:03am @MaryB: Cheers Mary, I really like it aswel, its my desktop background at the moment! @Jerry: Cheers Jerry T-Daddy from Dachsbach, GermanySehr schöne Aufnahme. Das Zusammenspiel von weich und hart, kalt und warm, einfach super 13 Nov 2007 11:55am @T-Daddy: Viele Dank für Ihren Besuch T-Daddy! (And apologies if my grammer is all wrong, it's been a while!) @Sandrine: Cheers Sandrine Pouhou from Apeldoorn, NetherlandsI like the DOF and the oposition of tone between the rust chain and the rope 13 Nov 2007 3:30pm @Pouhou: Thanks Pouhou Nick Grundberg from Columbus, Ohio, United StatesAwesome capture of textures here. The colors here set that kind of "cold" mood. 13 Nov 2007 4:44pm @Nick Grundberg: Thanks Nick @Reza: Thanks Reza amy from Rocky Mountain House, CanadaIt's the whole that works... the textures, colours, dof, framing... Excellent image! 13 Nov 2007 8:15pm @amy: Thanks Amy Rebecca from Leicester, United KingdomWow, I agree with Amy here, Dave. That's true indeed!! Absolutely first-class textures, tones, DOF and framing. And the contrast in textures and tones, alongside some superficial similarity in shape, is indeed striking. Truly outstanding. 14 Nov 2007 1:24am @Rebecca: Thanks Rebecca @Ale Triskele: Thanks Ale @Double KK Photography: Thanks KK |
