Through the QuarryPosted by DaveB (Exeter, United Kingdom) on 7 January 2008 in Landscape & Rural. Taken at Portland Quarry, looking out at the englaish channel through one of the gullies As always, comments are welcome, particularly those offering feedback and criticism on my images! Brian from West Lafayette, AfghanistanExcellent composition. I really like the way that the line of the quarry leads the eye into the infinite distance of land and sea. 7 Jan 2008 2:32pm @Brian: Thanks Brian @Sarala: I honestly have no idea Sarala, the rock is Jurassic in age (200 - 145 Million years ago), and as far as I'm aware, the quarry has been operational since Victorian times at least! |
