The Drunken Couple

Posted by DaveB (Exeter, United Kingdom) on 21 January 2008 in People & Portrait.

Following on from yesterdays Happy Couple, this is my Dad (on the right) and my Uncle Paddy on the left, a few drinks into the night!

Constructive criticism (or just downright criticism!) is welcome and appreciated for all my shots!

Edit: Thanks to Ina for pointing out my silly mistake, which is now rectified!

As always, comments are welcome, particularly those offering feedback and criticism on my images! (It's the only way I'll learn!) :)

Michael Skorulski from Cigel, Slovakia

For drunks, they look really neatly dressed and well-behaved.

@Michael Skorulski: Maybe drunks is going a bit far, but they had a few drinks taken at this stage!

Ina from Krugersdorp, South Africa

Now you got me! Which one is your dad? The one on the right, or the one on the right? :))) Did you have anything to drink Dave?
This is a great black & white shot! The guy to the left seems like a serious guy...

@kevin: He's my Dad, and a fine upstanding man of the community! :) How do you know him? What part of Ireland are you from?

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

They look so chummy at the end of a happy-ending event! And quite satisfied!But...at a wedding...a few glasses more, it's the expected thing, isn't it?!

@Japanalia: Yes it is, and there was a few more taken!

Oswegan from Lake Oswego, United States

Reminds me of a Sinatra era shot.
I actually disagree about the contrast with standley, I'd like to see the detail in the hair and less cropping of the fingers.
The expressions are classic, and overall, I think the shot is a terrific snap.

@Oswegan: Thanks for the feedback Oswegan

James from Ireland
