Stonehenge #1Posted by DaveB (Exeter, United Kingdom) on 7 February 2008 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. Yesterday, I was lucky enough to be supervising some trial pits about 5 miles away from Stonehenge, so when the job was finished, I had time enough to go for a visit. To be honest, it was a bit like that scene in Spinal Tap when the dwarfs / leprechauns come on stage and start dancing around a 12 inch monolith; it was alot smaller than I expected! Still a very cool (and photogenic) place to visit, and I got what looks like the one day of good weather of the week to go there! Constructive criticism (or just downright criticism!) is welcome and appreciated for all my shots! As always, comments are welcome, particularly those offering feedback and criticism on my images! (It's the only way I'll learn!) :)

Michael from Wuppertal, GermanyThis is a great and amazing shot! I have only been to the Calanish Stones in scotland and have only passed by the Stonehenge monoliths. 7 Feb 2008 10:49am @Michael: Thanks Michael, they're worth a visit! Steven from Montreal, CanadaI really like the shadows here! The rays of the sun add a nice feel to this shot aw well. 7 Feb 2008 12:14pm @Steven: Thanks Steven MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomA spectacular shot Dave, the silhouette of the stones, the sky and the light all are wonderful. 7 Feb 2008 3:03pm @MaryB: Thanks Mary Bhavin from Mississauga, CanadaAwwww. I want to go to Stonehenge! Great photo nonetheless. 7 Feb 2008 3:06pm @Bhavin: Thanks Bhavin amy from Rocky Mountain House, CanadaHere's one of those places on my list... you lucky dog! Really a very well done image. You've captured most brilliantly that whole atmosphere of mysticism. 7 Feb 2008 3:12pm @amy: Thanks Amy, I experimented with some different shutter speeds to catch the right look! Tracey from White Hall, United StatesWouldn't be the same without the sun in there! Great eye! I feel like the horizon is tilted down just a bit to the right. Could be just me. I hang pictures in my home crooked all of the time! 7 Feb 2008 4:00pm @Tracey: I always tilt to my left when I'm snapping, sometime I realise and overcompensate! Thanks for your comment! Earnest from Oklahoma, United StatesYour photo does make it look somewhat small... but when we see things on video, and in photos, they are always so much bigger. That's because of the concentrated attention that is the camera lens. That's a great sky. 7 Feb 2008 5:30pm @Earnest: Thanks Earnest, tomorrows shot lets the stones dominate the shot! Laurent from Lyon, FranceCongratulation. 7 Feb 2008 7:52pm @Laurent: Thanks for the feedback Laurent @Eleftheria, 9 years old,: It is indeed! Graham Russon from Cape Town, South AfricaBeautifull well composed shot, I like where the stones are positioned in this picture. Well done. 7 Feb 2008 8:45pm @Graham Russon: Thanks Graham ManuelaR from Hainburg, GermanyPowerful composition and great sky... lucky having good weather that day ;) 7 Feb 2008 11:18pm @ManuelaR: Thanks for your comment! @Bich Hong: Thanks Bich Sandrine from Cincinnati, United StatesGreat shot!
