Stonehenge #4Posted by DaveB (Exeter, United Kingdom) on 13 February 2008 in Landscape & Rural. Again, like yesterday, This is the same shot as seen here, but converted to B&W just to see what it looks like! As always, comments are welcome, particularly those offering feedback and criticism on my images! (It's the only way I'll learn!) :)

e. from New York, NY, United StatesGreat conversion! The rocks look really intense. 13 Feb 2008 5:36am @e.: Thanks e. @Dimitrios: Thanks Dimitrios Steven from Montreal, CanadaI like how dark the sky is, kind of foreboding. Love the sidelight! 13 Feb 2008 12:11pm @Steven: Thanks Steven T-Daddy from Dachsbach, nähe Erlangen, GermanyKlasse gemacht. Du hattest die gleiche Idee wie ich in schwarz / weiß umwandel und etwas grain dazugemischt, schon ist die Aufnahme auf alt gemacht. Klasse 13 Feb 2008 12:13pm @T-Daddy: Dnke Schon T-Daddy pLusOne from Cheonan, South KoreaSame Photo but Different Look! 13 Feb 2008 3:56pm @pLusOne: Thanks pLusOne Tracey from White Hall, United StatesI still am going for the black and white. Nothing wrong with the color, I just like the moodiness of the conversion. Well done! 13 Feb 2008 4:02pm @Tracey: Thanks Tracey ManuelaR from Hainburg, GermanyThey really look like completely two different takes! The b&w seems more intense ;) 13 Feb 2008 4:15pm @ManuelaR: Thanks for the feedback Manuela Anne from White Rock, BC, CanadaI like both shots! Really great pics of Stonehenge. Although I am a black and white fan, I believe the color version has more detail in the stone! Perhaps those black shadowed areas could be lifted with a little less contrast! Not too much mind you or it would lose its impact! :-) 13 Feb 2008 6:56pm @Anne: Might give it a try Anne, thanks for the feedback! @Michael: Thanks Michael Graham Russon from Cape Town, South AfricaPrefer the colour one, this is too dark for my liking. Maybe a more bluer black (if that makes sense) 13 Feb 2008 8:39pm @Graham Russon: I think it does Graham! MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomIt's the colour one for me too Dave. The stones connect more with the blue sky and green grass, if that makes sence. 13 Feb 2008 9:41pm @MaryB: I think it does Mary, thanks for the comment! amy from Rocky Mountain House, CanadaWhereas I prefer the starkness in this one... again, more drama. Shrug.. I've always got to be contrary! LOL Thanks Dave for always being so honest on my shots... really do appreciate your comments! ;-) 13 Feb 2008 10:55pm @amy: No problem Amy, thanks for your feedback on all mine aswel! Tse Min from Melbourne, Australiahands down, b&w, yet again. this one brings out the rocks, while on the colour shot, the colours seems to take away the focus from the rocks. the colours still look good, but it just gives a different feel. 14 Feb 2008 5:22am @Tse Min: Thanks for the feedback Tse gandz from Kharkiv, Ukraineit looks great in b/w! as already said, more intense:) 14 Feb 2008 10:28pm @gandz: Thanks gandz @Scotfot: Thanks Scotfot |
