AltarPosted by DaveB (Exeter, United Kingdom) on 18 March 2008 in People & Portrait. This is the same girl who can be seen here, before she sat down to have a read (and no I wasn't stalking her, they just happened to be there!) I didn't like how the actual shot came out, it seemed to focus weirdly, but I like it in B&W! As always, comments are welcome, particularly those offering feedback and criticism on my images! (It's the only way I'll learn!) :)

pLusOne from Cheonan, South KoreaSometimes this kind of shot makes me laugh. lol 18 Mar 2008 5:15am @pLusOne: Thanks pLusOne Saeed from Tehran, IranNice shot. I like the focus in THIS shot :) And good B & W 18 Mar 2008 7:10am @Saeed: Thanks Saeed @Kleos: Thanks kleos Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesSometimes the weird shots do make the best BWs. This one has a lot of depth (in terms of story-telling). Kind of a spiritually journalistic image. I like it. 18 Mar 2008 11:00am @Viewfinder: Thanks Viewfinder Sujit Sudhi from Hyderabad, IndiaNever mind the focus. I think it works, at least for me. Great moment captured. Sometimes it makes sense just to aim and shoot, because by the time you stop to spot meter off a highlight and then apply exposure compensation and then set auto bracketing on and then shoot...well...you know what can happen :):) 18 Mar 2008 11:02am @Sujit Sudhi: Yep, the quick shots are often, if not always the best! @Lorraine: Thanks Lorraine Pavla from Saint James City, United StatesVery nice shot and yes the focus is a little off, but I like the way it focused on the altar. 18 Mar 2008 2:10pm @Pavla: Thanks Pavla @Reza: Thanks Reza Graham Russon from Cape Town, South AfricaGreat shot, the bw with the out of focus people, works very well., 18 Mar 2008 7:26pm @Graham Russon: Thanks Graham e. from New York, NY, United StatesI really like the way the photo is out of focus. 18 Mar 2008 8:48pm @e.: Thanks e. Tse Min from Melbourne, AustraliaI loveeeeeeee b&w. I like the composition of this shot, although i would have prefer the people to be in focus, rather than the pulpit. 18 Mar 2008 9:38pm @Tse Min: Thanks Tse Min @MaryB: Thanks MaryB amy from Rocky Mountain House, CanadaI like the perceived story with the couple approaching the altar. I'm a little iffy about the lack of sharpness but really love the b/w. Hmmm, methinks I'm torn. 19 Mar 2008 1:00am @amy: Thanks for the feedback Amy |
