Nelson's Monument #2

Posted by DaveB (Exeter, United Kingdom) on 3 June 2008 in Cityscape & Urban.

This shot is a HDR one, done using 3 seperate exposures and using Photomatix, which was a first for me. I am pleased with the results, but it's not the most intuitive program in the world, so a bit more playing around will be necessary I think! In fact, looking at it after its been uploaded, the sky looks cartoonish, but I do like the foreground and the trees!

As always, comments are welcome, particularly those offering feedback and criticism on my images! (It's the only way I'll learn!) :)

Peter Miller from Lichfield, United Kingdom

Not bad but as you say a bit more playing around with tone mapping would improve it

@Peter Miller: Thanks Peter, I know what you mean!

Graham Russon from Cape Town, South Africa

Foreground and trees are fantastic, sky is a bit too blue. I've attempted this many times, with photomatix, so can appreciate the effort. Good one.

@Graham Russon: Thanks Graham, my thought exactly! The sky was even worse, only that I brought it into photoshop to play a bit!
