The Long and Winding Road

Posted by DaveB (Exeter, United Kingdom) on 7 October 2008 in Cityscape & Urban.

This is Cockburn Street in Edinburgh, which links Waverley Bridge to the Royal Mile; although not long, it is steep and very winding!

I decided not to try to attempt to correct the buildings in this one, I like the looming feel they give!

As always, comments are welcome, particularly those offering feedback and criticism on my images! (It's the only way I'll learn!) :)

Edinburgh has some unique and favourite street scenes from around the UK...and this is a superb capture and PP. Great work.

Fantastic! I love these super wide angle shots. I use my Sigma 10-20mm all the time and have come to like the distortion too!

@Simon Hawkings: Thanks Simon, I love my sigma aswel, although this one was taken with my kit lens; if I'd used my 10-20, they'd probably be bent in on themselves!

brilliant street scene! i agree with you on the buidling - given their tones and style they do look rather ominous and fightening looking over the street... excellent work!
