Mountainous #1Posted by DaveB (Exeter, United Kingdom) on 20 October 2008 in Landscape & Rural. A series of shots taken on the drive from Edinburgh to Fort William last sunday; this is the first, and don't ask me what the mountain is called! As always, comments are welcome, particularly those offering feedback and criticism on my images! (It's the only way I'll learn!) :)

Thanks for your comment @Stefan Thaler: Thanks Stefan @Zygène: Merci Fabrice Mohammadreza Rezania from Tehran, Iranvery nice shot and good post producing ... 20 Oct 2008 5:30pm @Mohammadreza Rezania: Thanks Mohammadreza Alun Lambert from cheshire, United KingdomWell i'm going to be sad now and say it's Beinn Dorain and stand at 1076 metres. Sorry about that. and what a cracking photo, the sky is fantastic and i love the light and shadow on the mountain. 20 Oct 2008 6:10pm @Alun Lambert: Nothing sad about that, good to have a name! See if you can id the mountains for the rest of the week, cos I have no idea! Ted from South Wales, United KingdomStunning! So how would you feel if you had HDR taken away from you now? 20 Oct 2008 6:39pm @Ted: Interesting question Ted, and I have thought about it recently since I have been posting alot of HDR stuff. One of the main reasons for this is that when I returned to Scotland for the second time, I forgot my couch of filters, and there was no way I could do landscapes like these justice in the way I wanted without the use of a polariser or ND-grad. Therefore, I decided to go down the HDR route from the start. I think that's the main thing in my view; I don't think something like Photomatix or Redynamix automatically makes a fantastic image, you still have to have a good shot to work first, or rubbish in - rubbish out if you will. If I go out shooting with an idea in mind, and can see that idea take shape in what I produce, then happy days. So to answer your question in a roundabout way, I could live without HDR, but I'm glad I had it for this series of shots! :) João Mourão from Amadora, Portugalwow You did again.
