In Edinburgh #4

Posted by DaveB (Exeter, United Kingdom) on 5 November 2008 in Cityscape & Urban.

A very similar shot to this one, but with a bit more; not sure which I prefer!

As always, comments are welcome, particularly those offering feedback and criticism on my images! (It's the only way I'll learn!) :)

Zygene from morlaix, France

Une atmosphère de tout beauté et bien sombre comme je les aime.

Observing from West Cheshire, United Kingdom

This image say's Edinburgh, and I've alway's regarded this structure as gothic and old. Good classic shot Dave.

@Observing: Thanks Mike

João Mourão from Amadora, Portugal

those buildings in the right background just don't belong there. Nice shot.

@João Mourão: Thanks Joao

Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, Spain

I like those buildings and the b/w of the photo. Maybe a little bit more luminous would be even better.

@Paco Díaz: Probably Paco, thanks for the feedback!

zOOm from Paris, France

Wonderful gothic building, B&W suits so well.

MaryB from Staffordshire, United Kingdom

I think I prefer the other one, only because of the modern building on the right, my eyes keep been drawn to that part of the photograph, also it could be the older building in the right forground, that is leading my eye there, if you see what i mean.
Still a good b&w shot though Dave.

@MaryB: Thanks Mary, I know exactly what you mean, I was struggling for shots until I wen't out and did some night-time work last night!

Veronelle from Lens, France

beautifull b&w church

5 Nov 2008 1:49pm

@Veronelle: It's actually a monument, but I can see how you could get confused!

Ana Lúcia from Leiria, Portugal

This is an awesome picture in b&w. I am loving your series of buildings.

@Ana Lúcia: Thanks Ana Lucia

Lorraine from Gatineau, Canada

They're both so superb, but still I'll go with previous, simply because it has more 'mood' that's it...

@Lorraine: Thanks Lorraine

Monique from Koh Samui, Thailand

I like them both, although the other one has more details. I thought it was a church too, but I read it's a monument, looks great!

@Monique: Thanks Monique

FLOOG from United Kingdom

I like both, and against the flow of the tide, I like this one more. It has a more complete feel and I really like the overall composition. But as said, both are superb

@FLOOG: Thanks FLOOG

Beautiful architecture. This shot is nice, the main building is just a little too centered.
