Over the BridgePosted by DaveB (Exeter, United Kingdom) on 9 January 2009 in Cityscape & Urban. Not as dramatic as the last few, this was taken in a small village in Gloucester As always, comments are welcome, particularly those offering feedback and criticism on my images! (It's the only way I'll learn!) :)

Steve Rice from Olympia, United StatesA lovely street scene in this picturesque place. The tones are smooth and silky. 9 Jan 2009 6:53am @Steve Rice: Thanks Steve JamesC from portland, United StatesPretty shot, love the layering. 9 Jan 2009 7:08am @JamesC: Thanks James, and don't worry about it! :) Technically, Big Ben is the bell in the tower attached to the parlimentary buildings in London, the tower itself is called St Stephens Tower! You learn something new every day! :) @Zing: Thanks Zing Luca Bobbiesi from Milano, ItalyA bridge without protections? It looks like pretty dangerous, great shot, I loke it 9 Jan 2009 9:56am @Luca Bobbiesi: The rivers about 2 foot below, and its about 8 inches deep. I don't think there's any danger of drowning, and rails would spoil the ambience zahai from Berlin, GermanyNice street scene. Bit of a shame that the woman's head is hidden by the tree branch. Do you happen to have a shot of 5 seconds earlier? :) 9 Jan 2009 10:26am @zahai: Thanks Zahai, unfortunately not; I've got one taken about 1 second later, which is even worse! :) @Ana Lúcia: Thanks Ana Lucia @Elena Kotrotsou: Thanks Elena Ronnie 2¢ from London, United KingdomThere is a retro feeling to this . . I take it is Bourton-on-the-Water ? If so, those little bridges don't feel as hazardous as they look. 9 Jan 2009 11:14am @Ronnie 2¢: Sounds about right Ronnie, I'm rubbish at names, I need to start taking a notebook out with me! :) Jean-François from LES ISSAMBRES, Francemagnifique N et B ................... une scène de vie très agréable ! 9 Jan 2009 11:46am @Jean-François: Merci Jean-Francois @-1q5yChØt!c-: Thanks for your comment! @Paula Camps: Thanks Paula Andrew from North Carolina, United StatesExcellent street scene, but man it looks cold. Branches over faces is actually a style I sometgimes shoot myself, as I often desire either body language or a feeling that the person is not the central focus of the shot I'm taking, so I rather like this 9 Jan 2009 3:13pm @EYES WIDE SHUT: Thanks Eyes @Naigoran: Thanks Naigoran Graham Russon from Cape Town, South AfricaNice shot, good composition bw adds a vintage/retro feel to it. 9 Jan 2009 8:57pm @Graham Russon: Thanks Graham Laura from Birmingham, United Kingdomlovely portrait. nice comparison between foreground and background 9 Jan 2009 9:33pm @Laura: Thanks Laura JJ from Jersey City, United Stateswonderful candid shot, B&W works well here, looks like a peaceful place 10 Jan 2009 2:24am @JJ: Thanks JJ @Suzanne: Thanks Suzanne blackivory from Singapore, SingaporeLovely scene!
