Stormy Seas #3

Posted by DaveB (Exeter, United Kingdom) on 3 February 2009 in Landscape & Rural.

Another one taken from Portland Bill in Dorset. This is a pseud-HDR shot, used to give the sky and sea some oomph!

As always, comments are welcome, particularly those offering feedback and criticism on my images! (It's the only way I'll learn!) :)

And it's worked Dave, I almost expect to see a mermaid out there luring the sailors onto the rocks to their doom! a wonderfully moody shot.

De la serie, me gusta esta especialmente. Los tercios bien repartidos y cada uno con su interés. Es una foto muy fría, pero no deja de tener su encanto.

Diane Schuller from Hythe, Canada

I really love this image: it's the overall feel and colour but also the way the rock 'points' into the sea. Normally I don't care for HDR because most people really overdo it; this use of HDR to the sky is well done and makes it quite appealing. Very nice work.

3 Feb 2009 5:12pm

@Diane Schuller: Thanks Diane, I don't like overdone HDR shots either; the foreground in this one was way too overdone when tone-mapped, I think it works better like this!

Steve Rice from Olympia, United States

I like the processing on this a lot. The water looks great as does the sky. It's a lovely scene too.
