You Looking at MePosted by DaveB (Exeter, United Kingdom) on 19 March 2009 in Animal & Insect. After looking for a Dartmoor Pony all day, I found 3 less than 10 minutes from my car at the end of the day! I quite like the tilted horizon in this one, I'd be interested to hear what others think? As always, comments are welcome, particularly those offering feedback and criticism on my images! (It's the only way I'll learn!) :)

@Didier DE ZAN: Thanks Didier Mike from Lichfield, United KingdomFor me the tilted horizon works well. It might have been different if the pony had been listing over as well, but as it is I think it's fine. I also think the tonal range is just about perfect. 19 Mar 2009 6:31am @Mike: Thanks Mike, that was my feeling on it aswel @Rags: Thanks Rags Laura from Birmingham, United Kingdomwonderful perspective. Different from many of your other shots and works really well. 19 Mar 2009 9:52am @Laura: Thanks Laura Jon from Basingstoke, United KingdomI think it works really well Dave. Did you use a wide angle lens? 19 Mar 2009 12:30pm @Jon: Yep, I could've used a telephoto but I wanted to get up close. He didn't like it so much! :) @k@: Thanks K@ shroom from DFW, United StatesMaking his head vertical along the 'thirds' line works great, IMO. The horizon does it's job despite the tilt. Thumbs up. 19 Mar 2009 1:24pm @shroom: Thanks Shroom Evelyne Dubos from Le Mans, FranceHe seems to be both curious and suspicious... like the angle of view. 19 Mar 2009 2:41pm @Evelyne Dubos: Thanks Evelyne Anthony Lambert from Bielefeld, GermanyThat´s the first thing I thought, nice "on a hill shot" ,the pony looks nice and nosey.just the thing for good photos.Very nicely done !! 19 Mar 2009 3:07pm @Anthony Lambert: Thanks ANthony zOOm from Paris, FranceGreat wide-angle ! Makes an unusual portrait but how great ! 19 Mar 2009 3:13pm @zOOm: Thanks zOOm BoB from Milano, ItalyIt's amazing the way he looks at you. Great contrast and I like the angle. 19 Mar 2009 3:15pm @BoB: Thanks BoB, he was pissed off more than curious I think P J W Miller from Chase Terrace, United KingdomThe tilt does work for me, anyway, as long as the pony does not fall over. Composition and framing are good, were you on your knees and yes it is me 19 Mar 2009 3:46pm @P J W Miller: Thanks Peter manel from Girona, SpainEl B&W., es bueno. 19 Mar 2009 4:46pm @manel: Thanks Manel LauraS from Chico, United StatesLove the angle of this shot, and simplicity of it. Very expressive. 19 Mar 2009 6:17pm @LauraS: Thanks Laura @Julian Kilsby: Thanks Julian Graham Russon from Cape Town, South AfricaHorzion works well with this, great angle and composition. 19 Mar 2009 9:05pm @Graham Russon: Thanks Graham @Alun Lambert: Thanks Alun @Steve Rice: Thanks Steve peter from new york, United Statesi like the tilt a lot! look at the coat on that guy!! hahaha 19 Mar 2009 9:48pm @peter: Thanks Peter Scott Schilling from San Martin, United StatesI love the composition and the pony looking at you is perfect!
