Rainbow Lorikeets #6

Posted by
DaveB (Exeter, United Kingdom) on 24 September 2008 in Animal & Insect.

The same shot as yesterdays, but with some tone-mapping after a B&W conversion

Canon EOS 400D 1/125 second F/3.2 ISO 100 100 mm

As always, comments are welcome, particularly those offering feedback and criticism on my images! (It's the only way I'll learn!) :)

zOOm from Paris, France

That's great ! I prefer this one ! Nicely tone-mapped Dave ! It nicely reveals all the different hints of this mono.

What a great effect, I really like the way you've processed this Dave.

lorraine from Canada

How interesting, I loved both but yesterday's I didn't think of it as B&w it felt so warm...In this one it looks like the bird as a special aura, but I think I slighlty prefer yesterday's...close call though lol

@lorraine: I feel the same, I think yesterdays is slightly better, but I still like this

Graham Russon from Cape Town, South Africa

Brings the head out nicely, but the rest of the pic looks a bit overdone for me. Prefer yesterdays.

@Graham Russon: Thanks for the feedback Graham, I think you're right

Wolfgang - vu@granby from Granby, Québec, Canada

I also have a slight preference for yesterday's, but this one is good as well1

Emilio Garcia from Pleasanton, United States

Agree with Zoom. I like this one better because it is crisper and nicer to the eyes. Nice job.

willow from Chelsea, United States

He looks like he glows. Kind of surreal. I think I like yesterday's more, but it's a tough call. This one is intriguing.
